CollabraSpace Named "Best Place to Work" in Baltimore Region Among Small Businesses

Best Places To WorkAnnapolis, MD — March 24, 2006 — CollabraSpace®, a leading provider of web-based collaboration solutions for government and commercial enterprises, has been named the “Best Place to Work” in the small business category of the Baltimore Business Journal’s first annual survey.

CollabraSpace CEO Ray Schwemmer is particularly proud of this distinction, as it is a direct result of feedback provided anonymously by the company’s employees. "There are a lot of companies that claim to understand the value of their employees, but at CollabraSpace, we truly do," said Schwemmer. "We have worked hard to listen to them -- and to create a workplace that reflects our respect for opinions and ideas from every corner of the office."

Over 170 businesses that participated in the survey made it through the first round of cuts. The survey required that at least 80 percent of the employees of each participating company complete a questionnaire that covered topics ranging from job satisfaction and career development to trust in company management and employee compensation.

Among the benefits and perks extended to CollabraSpace employees are annual five weeks PTO allowances, 30-day paid sabbatical for employees after five years of service, 100 percent company-paid health care plans and a liberal attitude toward telecommuting.

Harmonizing Information Sharing with Business Operations
Corporate and Government organizations are increasingly looking toward collaboration and information sharing technologies to achieve operational efficiencies, but few are realizing the full potential. Deploying a system that provides rich collaboration functionality does not guarantee increased collaboration among analysts, developers, management and domain experts with access to the system. Furthermore, such systems are frequently bundled with their own proprietary services, thereby creating a stovepipe accompanied by high maintenance, support and system costs. CollabraSpace offers an enterprise collaboration solution that provides a rich and increasing set of collaboration functions that resides within most corporate middleware services infrastructures. The CollabraSpace solution integrates seamlessly into the desktop environment, with functions apparent and readily available to people as they go about their work.Download PDF (64K)
